General Description, including but not limited to:

ROLE PURPOSE: To competently and professionally achieve budgeted revenue goals by establishing and fostering client and companion subsidiary relationships. Counsel clients, represent and sell Catalyst Next and Catalyst Next local inventories (included but not limited to radio air time, live events, sponsorships and various digital inventories) with the intent to advance client objectives.

Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•	Contact prospective customers to sell media packages for broadcasting station inclusive of commercial spot inventory, digital and streaming packages and non-traditional revenue.
•	Spend at least 50% of work time engaging in sales and solicitations outside of the office
•	Responsible for exceeding sales budget and collection of sold accounts.
•	Maintain account lists while soliciting new business.
•	Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, and advertising proposals.
•	Develop and maintain relationships with clients by providing top quality service.
•	Investigate and resolve customer problems.
•	Communicate with other departments to assure quality service in placing orders and arranging promotional events.
•	Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and client remotes.
•	Performs all other tasks perceived, assigned, and/or required that contribute to the smooth running of the department and to the achievement of departmental and station goals.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
•	To attend all relevant skill building workshops as requested.
•	To stay current with all relevant industry information as it applies to the overall job responsibility.
•	To drive your own Performance Appraisal every six months.

General Description, including but not limited to:

• Reviews and determines all commercial and paid programming content; decides music play lists; schedules programming in conformance with network & FCC rules and regulations, company policy and applicable federal, state, and local laws; protects station license.

• Plans and oversees tone, programming, production, sound & theme, website, online presence, and social media.

• Collaborates with Production to enlist musical direction and seeks options that meet editorial scope.

• Fields record label calls, schedules music, and checks social media to ensure music remains consistent with station’s brand.

• Identifies, recruits, and coaches on-air talent, producers, news directors, and reporters, e.g., frequently listens/airchecks sessions with on-air talent,

• Provides direction to DJ and audio engineer on content

• Partners with Market President, Programming and Sales in support of local and corporate business goals to increase market share, listeners, ratings, advertiser satisfaction, and revenue while aligning programming fit with client, station, and audience; creates talent and station marketing, promotion, and image campaigns.

• Determines and maintains creative vision for station(s) to enhance station image and visibility within the community.

• Evaluates programming available from distributors, syndicators, and independent producers to recommend acquisitions for broadcast.

• Schedules staff for on-air shifts, remotes, and appearances.

• Ensures staff has taken/passed/maintained all company programs, plans, and training (e.g., RBI, Payola/Plugola).

• Prepares and manages Programming Department budget on a yearly, quarterly, and monthly basis.

• Establishes and maintains professional relationships with producers, artists’ managers, composers and other industry contacts.

BossFM seeks an energetic, self-sufficent and well-versed entertainment reporter looking for an exciting new opportunity.  The preferred location for this position is Atlanta or New York, however remote applicants will be considered.

Reporters should have at least 2 years of media work experience and be comfortable behind a mic and camera.  The work requires knowledge of industry standards, solid business acumen and extreme attention to detail.  

This role may have dual responsibilities within the Catalyst Next News & Media division and will report to the Program Director at Boss ONE.

The position may include (but will not be limited to) the following duties:

*Writes script, contests and interview questions.

*Memorizes script, reads, or ad-libs to identify station, introduce and close shows, and announce station breaks, commercials, or public service information.

*Reads news flash to keep audience informed of important events.

*Records interviews of guest, musical or other famous or public personalities, and edits interviews.

*Interviews guest, and moderates panel or discussion show to entertain audience.

*Plans and stages community events, including hosting and assisting at charity functions.

*Attends live, in-person appearances as scheduled by the station or requested by clients.

*Ensures logged commercials, promotions, sweepers and any other programming element essential to the station's operations are aired.

*Operates control console.

*Performs commercial production.

*Performs additional duties in small stations, such as production, assisting program director or music director, operating radio transmitter or writing advertising copy. Plays music as specified by music director and music log.

Candidates must be able to effectively manage story assignments and show production in addition to supervising junior staff. Candidates should have a minimum of ten years' experience in long form. Control room experience is desired. The ideal candidate will offer creative and innovative ideas for better story-telling as well as have the ability to work under pressure and handle breaking news. Understanding of digital platforms and social media preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and some holidays.

The Associate Web Producer works in collaboration with the web production team and is responsible for the day-to-day production of internal and external website content. The associate web producer’s main focus is to produce and deliver high quality content implementations, communicate with business units and internal teams to uphold content standards & best practices.

Day-to-Day Production:

Complete web production related cases that have been assigned to the team.
Work in collaboration with Web Production Supervisor, Senior Web Producers, Web Producers, Associate Web Producers, User Experience Analysts, Interactive Designers, Front End Developers, Project Managers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and business units to implement the best user experience on web-based projects.
Facilitate the completion of technical and content updates produced by case requests and generated needs from Website analytics.
Responsible for upholding content & graphical production standards.

Urban Newsroom is seeking an internet-obsessed Real Time News intern. Urban Newsroom 's Digital News brand covers web, mobile and digital news content. Our news covers news across all verticals (tech, entertainment, business, science, culture, etc.) with staff working across the globe. The ideal candidate for this internship lives online, is obsessed with current affairs and understands the building blocks of shareable content. This person can craft web and Snapchat-friendly stories from images, video and social media, and can work fast with attention to detail in a breaking news environment. We’re looking for someone willing to explore all corners of the internet to find an interesting angle on the news of the day. This person will also be confident in conducting research, content hunting and writing.

Urban Newsroom is a subsidiary of Catalyst Next.

Applicants must have access to phone, computer and high speed internet connection for the full duration of this internship.

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Students will gain valuable information and experience in the radio industry. Students will be eligible to receive applicable college course credit.
